For you folks that are thinking of this here is my feedback.
Have a 66 bus with roof rack and surf boards and any other wind breaker you may think off.
I was very worried about overheating so fitting one of these. Pull out dipstick, push this in, pull of one wire, connect this wire and the last.
1minute job - no worries.
Pushed it round whilst a mate watched the guage, light comes on. So in theory it works.
Did a bit of city driving. Came around 60%. So temp does change it.
Did freeway driving at 96 (sweetspot). Came round 80%. Happy days.
I have not yet tested the calibration in boiling water and I am sure that they do not reflect exactly what the heads are doing (not straight away
anyway), but for $45 and 1 minutes work it provides huge peace of mind and I personally could not recommend them higher to someone that either does
not have the know how or motiviation to install a temp sender and gauge or that does not want an entra guage in the cab.
The only problem with them is, cause I knew the oil was not boiling out the back I ran the bus at 117km/hr on the way back from the coast and I think
I both forgot to slowdown for the 100 zone and forgot the speed camera there. I shall await the registered mail from the government for the next 2
weeks.

Thanks for the feedback mate!
Yeah they are real simple to install and i've tested a good handful of them, all come in very close to 104°C
( temp probe in hot oil along with temp dipstick)
at 104 you are at max temp.. at 110 you are doing damage.
Summer is coming, highly recommended!
