Nearly 1 year since I've posted anything on the bus so this is what's happened in that time.
After breaking the input shaft at Warwick last year I pulled down the porsche box again to put the new shaft in which comes with 1st and 2nd gear
$$$$. While it was apart I replaced the pinion retainer studs, grade 8.8( 8mm), with 10mm 12.9 grade and longer as well. The old studs had stretched
and left the nuts loose.
And I now have a $1290 clutch alingnment tool

After using E85 ( 76%) fron the local caltex, this is what can happen to the fuel after sitting for 4 months.
I then cleaned the whole fuel system out, got the injectors cleaned and flowed. Also I saw the fuel tank had surface rust in it. I put some old fuel
in it with some big washers and sloshed it around replacing the fuel until it came out clean. Then used a tank liner to seal it.
Red Kote.
While the lower half of the intake manifold was off I ported it to suit the engine, about 3mm to come off each port.

Thanks guys
I also machined plates on the lower manifold to cover where the exhaust was used to heat up the intake air.
Also machined the turbo cover, just cause for fun.

I noticed the rear hub nut was a bit loose because of the huge offset rims (63) caused the hub to ware out. The problem is that there is no support on
the inner, where the spline stops, so I made a brass bush that fits firm.
This is the E 85 form Warwick united petrol station that I'm running this year it's 88%

Had the bus on the dyno the other night, because I changed a few things but only got 6 runs, on the last run we just got rid of a miss. It turns out
it was missing from to much fuel 10.9 A/f, with a small change down to 11.3 A/F gained an extra 52hp with lots more to go!!
I'll tune it more at the track.
As we were heading in the right direction a tyre let go at 8500 rpm 4th gear, THATS 303KPH!!!! F... N bang!!
You can see the tread at the back of the dyno room where it landed.
Lucky we weren't hurt.
And some quater damage, it was worse than it looks. But I got it looking ok.
The bus is now ready to race once again
