Hey there barls. That text under your posts seems to have gotten longer since I last saw it. I think my favourite is the Let It Bleed album, I think it's full of grouss stuff. I 'recorded' my dad's vinyls, so there's a few scratchy bits!

EDIT: mmm, not quite a full on hippy just yet!:thumb

Oh well Uni has only a week and a half to go, then another week and a half until my last (and only remaining) exam! WOOHOOO.

It feels so weird after six years of hard study.:beer:beer

Hey apart from selling badges and stuff, what kind of work does 'the system' have you doing through the days? I realised I don't actually know, other than that you're involved with the military and ... hydraulics, right?

Yeah, the ikky world hey?

Well, I'm taking a few months off. I'm going travelling. No plans other than to spend a few months on the beach. Not sure where yet, but somewhere HOT is a definite priority. I felt ripped off last summer in SE Australia (south NSW & eastern Vic).

Stealing boogies! So now the truth is revealed. And from THREE year olds! Oh $2!

Oh I was thinking of driving to WA. That's quite a drive too. I intend to spend more than a month, doing perhaps an hour a day driving on average. Nothing stressful. (Maybe a few long days across the nallarbor though!)

The east coast seems awfully touristy, right up to near bundaberg. I did Sydney-southwards last year. Beautiful areas though. I've been to Foster before, when I was little.

I haven't confirmed anything yet, but WA is supposed to be really dry over summer (according to the old atlas that I have). Queensland was my initial goal, but doesn't it rain a lot in summer, and some places you can't swim?

I just need to convince my sister, who wants to come too, that the drive across to WA is justified. She reckons it'd be better to go somewhere closer. Hopefully I can do some kombi-saving too!

Good luck Ducky.....hope it all go well for ya'. It will be good if you can get a job that you like first time round, and if it doesn't come off at least you know your in the running for that type of work. :thumb ;)

aggrl, WA is a wonderful place and the trip is well justified.... but one thing you must know is that the weather in Perth is much like the weather in Newcastle NSW and its about the same size town. Yes there is a lot to do in WA but if your looking to come to Perth then go to Broom and maybe Exmouth then a boat ride to Rotto you may need to look at you map. Driving to broom from Perth is like driving from Melbourne Vic to Rockhampton Qld but you have stuff all places along the way unless you go the coast road then it will take longer.... In saying all that Perth would be the best place to be ( this is my opinion but I have lived in every state and territory within Australia) so if you still find yourself heading this way let me know and I will give you some places to go.........
;)

Hmmm. OK. Yeah I thought that it would be raining more further north, so I had in mind staying in the south west. Yeah, I'd appreciate any suggestions as to what places to visit. As mentioned above, I'm a hippy, I love nature and stuff.:P My dad's really into australian plants, he grows just about anything. Got a really great collection of rare and endangered banksias, dryandras (sp?), hakeas, etc... Many from WA. I'd love to see these places firsthand. Oh, and those really big trees. Karri? Yeah, that'd be cool.

Good work on the job hunt ducky. Hope all goes well for you.

Sounds like a lot of technical fun there barls. Are the 'mine hunters' a type of ship or a different piece of machinery?

Cheers, Aurel

Yep. I'm still/again doing computational fluids. Oh, it goes on and on. Modelling converging-diverging nozzles under supersonic and subsonic flow regimes. Mmm, sounds clever!

I'm looking up WA national parks on the web while waiting... Looks SO nice!

Oh - there's a ska program on Plenty Valley FM this evening (every thursday). For melbournites. Actually, I'm not sure what the coverage is of "Plenty Valley FM".

Nope, sorry, I am like everyone else. I have heard of urges, but not the urge.

I am kinda not-quite-sure about buying stuff online. I'll give it a go sometime - like after my travels when I have a job and some money.:D

EDIT: oh, I'm going home, forgot to bring lunch today, so I'm getting hungry.:thumb
