Hey there, has anyone done a wheel bearing recently? As in, taken apart, cleaned, regreased, and put together again, not 'done' like smashed. I am wondering how long it might take, and what tools are required. Thought if it wasn't too hard, I should do it before the trip. It might after all never have been done before. I have the Haynes manual, but thought I'd also get some practical ideas. Like, would it make sense to redo the CV's while I'm at it, or the... I don't know, what else? Cheers dudes, peace!

Oh yeah, a kombi ('74 bay). New ones hey, that sounds like a good idea. I'll call the parts place. I thought I'd do all four. If not now, then in a few months. I want to "service" as many parts of the car as I can over the next few months so she's in great reliable condition. Figured wheel bearings were a reasonable place to start, considering I'm not highly experienced mechanically.

Oh hey, what do I need to know about buying a new oil filter? (same bus) I presume that these are standard kind of parts. ?:alien

Oh hey, I couldn't find this thread on the general chit chat page! Maybe I'm going blind (or mad, not too unexpected considering the company here right?).

EDIT: ah, it's back at the top now that I've posted.:thumb

Peace, love and mungbeans, what's going on Brothers and Sisters? Oh - Heather dear, I've just gotten you a MAGIK HAPPENS (but never to me) sticker you wanted. It's 3 foot by 18 foot, so it should cover that rust problem (or did you want it for waxing your back and anus?).

HAPPY NOW? I cant contribute as regularly any more unfortunately guys! Sorry, it doesn't mean I don't love you. It's just the new job's killin' me (but it's getting better and easier every day).
