Dear "ROCKETMAN"..Rod, TopGun knows my password etc.he set up the avatar secretly & obviously has difficulty in handling the truth about the camera
so he decides to penalise me this way & signatures me as "Deep Down I know I"m only second best"...he has probably got that right though. You would never nickname him ocean as the imbocile lacks depth !!!

"Dangerous" Dave,

I quote from your earlier post to me regarding Ross' credibility..... "Ross assures me he will be at Gunnedah rain hail or shine":no::no:???????? Obviously his assurances are about as good as any politician's come election time! It's a good thing that I didn't go out and buy that new video camera just yet. I've learned the hard way, the only thing reliable about him is his unreliability (and I don't mean the car).

I've also noticed on Willowbank Raceway's web site that he's actually submitted an entry in Super sedan for the Blown Alcohol Championship round coming up next month. I don't know how he's gotten away with Houndog's entry as SSC when it should be SSCC. With all that constant hot air floating around inside Houndog's "cockpit" surely it must be classified as steam driven, or some other form of supercharging! Anyhow, it's probably a moot point as his attendance at this meeting will probably be as likely as the next sighting of the Loch Ness Monster.

Hello Top Gun.
Yes it appears to be that the cancellation of that event has stopped Ross from running,
but after discussion with Ross last night,
he told me that to make ammends,
he will stand out at the track for two days, alone,
with your video camera, and film the breeze as it attempst to evapourate the quagmire from the pits.

Yes I see that ross has entered the meeting at willowbank,
and he had better damn well be there, hot air and all,
so that when he chickens out I can slot into the seat.

It will be good to meet you then.

Regards,
Dave.

Dave,

Now that Houndog won't be running at Gunnedah (as promised "rain hail or shine"), you think Ross could still go out to the track and perform a community service. With all that "hot air" now going to waste, he could use some of it to help dry out the paddock.

Cheers

Dear Dave.....Simmo alias TopGun is dead right I did state that I would be at Gunnedah rain/hail or shine but my winning card is I didn't mention competing if it was overcast. This cancellation is so disappointing,I would have liked to put some mild time into the transmission & settled in the overhauled engine after the dyno rebuild. The car & I will have to attend Willowbank green but still "HOTDOG RED".The super sedan field at Willowbank for this meeting
at closing yesterday comprised 35 v8 super sedans of which 3 are supercharged/nitrous etc & a lonley naturally aspirated SSC entry. When I ran it at Willowbank in the nineties it too then was its first outing untried...so history has to repeat. You have probably worked this out by this Dave that TopGun wrote all the Harry Potter literature,
top qualified at compiling compositions in kindergarten, has heaps of idle time (QLD's youngest retiree) & is generally
impractical with his hands except behind close doors.
HENRY....I will not disgrace the geriatric bracket we contest !!!!

Andrew..come down & make yourselves known when you arrive.
It will be more rewarding to have some friendly associates around to talk to in the staging lanes..rather than the enemy of 35 V8s that are sharing the super sedan field with me..Regards..Ross ps Get on to "MUFFIN MAN" & make sure he hasn't lost his recipe book.

Craig...hopefully we can get some motion footage of it & post it to this site.I think I will be rather busy inside in the steering department, gearchanging & of
course underpants changing leaving me short of hands to hold the camera !!!!
The clock is wound back a long time with Greg. His folks had a water tank business-REMAH (Hamer backwards) years ago here in Tamworth .I remember his mum Queta well my mother taught her cake decorating in the mid 60's.Say gooday to him & give him my regards..what is he up to these days?

Frosty...By the look of the competitor format my qualifying runs should happen about mid morning & finish before dark on Saturday...times are real hard to predict as oil downs/clean ups etc are unknown factors.

HI Ross

I'm sure you'll be quite busy for 9 or 10 secs!
Some in-car footage would be great ! I'm sure there will be a number of Volksy supporters with camera's in hand!

Spoke to Greg this morning. I'll PM his email contact details to you.

Ross rang me this morning to say that he will not be racing today at the track.
He was at the test and tune last night and said the car overpowered the chassis.

Ross will probably chime in when he gets back to Tamworth,
but he had booked to just do some 1/8 mile licence passes at the test and tune on Friday night,
and sounds like the car was wheel standing all over the place/overpowering the track,
so could not race saturday due to ANDRA not approving the cars performance testing.

I am sure Ross will clear this up or what ever,
but this is my understnding from a two minute conversation on Saturday morning.

Have just got back from Willowbank. On Friday night they held a T&T to test out new new diigital readout boards.Things regrettably started off rather disappointing when after warming up the oil, starting the engine, adjusting the metering barrel & a general check from the unstarted rebuild was free of any gremlins. The car was refuelled taken to the staging lanes. When time came to restart it the electronic ignition went dead.Luckily I had a drive/shims & all the old fashioned stuff all moduled up fror a quick slip in.Fired the car & back around to the staging lanes for a the regulatory 1/8 solo pass.Owing to the freshness of the new diff I elected to by pass the water. I had felt the track & near got stuck there.Staged it & did a 5000 rpm mild launch the car has about 260 of its 316 horsepower at this point & is near to its maximum torque. It carried first gear through the air,2nd as well I got off it to ground it & gave it another jab of which it just sat hard on the wheelie bars robbing it of any ground contact to be able to point it.Plus side.. there is no waiting for it to wind out it is just a wack. The ANDRA steward was concerned for its lack of steering control. It lifts the car me & the heavy torsion bar front end instantly & effortlessly..further homework required in weight transfer dept.I am once again having fun..certainly a totally different ride from before.
