What's does these bars designed to do. Any pro's and con's between 3 and 5 bar setups. What would the advantage be if I added one to my 1963 beetle running standard swing axle box and a 1776cc engine.
Thanks Chris

They are designed to stop the forks on the floorpan (what holds the gearbox and engine) from flexing when you launch hard or under acceleration..........this flexing contributes to "axle hop" which BREAKS gearboxes.

The 5 bar kit is the Ultimate way to go as it completely triangulates the forks giving 100% support. The 3 bar kit is perfect for street cars or in situations where removing the gearbox to weld the back tabs is not an option.....

Both Kits would be an advantage for your car/setup, but to get the maximum benefit it should be fitted in conjunction with a gearbox strap kit, gearbox mid mount and heavy duty gearbox mounts. :tu:

Do I put you down for a 5 or 3 bar tazkralc ?

Hi Craig,
I've tried PMing a couple of times but no luck.
I'm after the 5 bar for my setup.
Dangerous Dave will have the gearbox ready soon and this is all I'm missing before everything goes back together for 1/4 mile tuning.
Can I call you or you could text me your # on 0402 327 383?
Thanks
Dean

Have you had an opportunity to check, whether the torque bar fits with heater boxes?

Like Funbug, I'm interested in running the 3 bar set up with heater boxes.

Thanks.

HI Craig, I have seen you talk about a rear solid and a mid-mount gearbox mount... have you fabricated anything here??? Are these kits in aid of using standard mounts ... or ... do we still need pretty beefy rear and mid mounts? (mid mount style i am thinking is similar to a gene berg mount with a plate mounted to the nosecone bolts and then supported to the frames via a utherane washer ((thick)) and a welded tab...)

Question is do we need solid mounts and do you sell them??? Pics
