 yeah wasn't quite 6 hours but painful none the less - couldn't get the front bleeders undone! :grind:

was so close to getting it finished!!! dad helped me to undo the broken brake lines so that was good.

only a few more things to do, so hopefully today is the day.

i suppose i better not leave you guys hanging. made some good progress today (only had half a day) but unfortunately didn't quite get to pulling it outside for a 'photoshoot'.

got the engine up and going! sounds fantastic

and got everything pretty much done and was able to back it up to park it at end of garage... wasnt expecting the clutch to work! :D

plans for tomorrow are - bleed brakes (front ones this time hopefully), then check all connections and bolts/hoses etc, tune up and then PHOTOS!!!
hopefully everything will be sweet so I can drive up to camp at the sunshine coast on Sunday!
and hopefully the 'modified' are cleaners will run alright... planning to get some new ones like this soon though.

that square is ROCKIN' !! seriously cool, are you happy with the results mate? the stance looks great, the clearance on the rear looks spot on, and that little bit of camber.....LOVE IT!!

have a great time on camp bro....you deserve to have a few days away with all the work you put in on the square this week, well done :tu::tu:

Wow, nice type3, i just picked up a 68'... It has a little less rust, and someone put a 2" lift on it that I want to remove, other than that it's white like yours and has a lot of older chrome....

try this link...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OS2fgJkhcJk

hope that works for you, if not, go to you tube and type in lowering type 3 vw, that should get you where you need to be....low and scrapin

doctor, dont't have many tips except for make sure you mark where you started - front on the trailing arm and back on the sprint plate. and be careful with making sure which splines you are adjusting inner or outer. shoot us any questions you have when you get down to doing it :) hth

Did you find the Front or Rear more difficult?

Should be doing it next Saturday at my mates place... See how things go, but fingers crossed it should be done!

i think the front was easier from memory. i did the front first and it took a 3-4 hours.

you might find there is a piece of metal pretruding from the the front beam that might stop you from going any lower. this needs to be modified with a grinder if you want to go lower.

yeah it was really really good man. its awesome seeing lives changed and being apart of something bigger than yourself! we had a lot of kids from really hard backgrounds and broken families so it can be tough working with them but more than worth it for eternal purposes!
thanks for asking man.

absolutely mate....thats the way to look at it, our eyes can sometimes only see the 'here and now' but when we step back and put the eternal perspective on things, it really changes your way of thinking, and your motivation!

Good on you mate, you will be rewarded for your efforts!!

thanks Paul

Made some slow progress today - found it was only firing on 3 cylinders (which explains the fuel leaking out of no. 2 exhaust port) so spent most of the day chasing new leads and the like. But finally managed to get the plug out and it is pretty black and oiled so hopefully if i clean it up it will fix it.

These came this morning :D and fitted perfectly! no more clearance issues.
