nationals supersprint

Team WPVW is ready for the supersprint and looking forward to catching up with fellow vee-dubbers .
Only 2 of our 3 cars will be attending as I have been quite ill with the flu and unable to get the turbo oval ready in time . The new front suspension was in and finished , swaybars and shocks , wheels and tyres , but engine is only half built and wont be ready in time .
The sports sedan has had the diff and gear ratio changed , engine serviced and put back on to unleaded racing fuel to comply with CAMS .
The formula vee 1200 of Chris Bolton has had the transmission overhauled and new tyres fitted and engine serviced .
Both cars are ready to go and I look forward to sharing the sports sedan with my 17 year old son Dean , this will be his first ever super sprint and first drive of the sports sedan . Should be very exciting for him .
See you all there .... Team WPVW.

glad you lot are excited, I'm as nervous as hell. The paperwork part is the easy bit. All I have to do now is stop 50 cars from crashing into each other.

I'll be coming down to spectate, but I was wondering what access to the pit area and everything would be so I can get a closer look at the cars after (and before) they have had their fang around the course. I know you don't need people clogging up the place, especially when cars are on the move.

Cheers

Great photos Matt,

You can tell the difference between someone that knows what they're doing behind a camera and a rank amateur like me. You've captured all the moments that I only got the after effects of.

Cheers

Hi Matt

Great photos as usual, I hope Craig can give you enough room to fit them in.

Thanks to everyone who attended and of course our organizers and helpers on the day.

With the way the weather was we would maybe have been washed out if we had held the drags instead.

I hope that we can run one again in the future, but as the number of entrants were down the event may actually run at a slight loss.

I also forgot to say thanks to all that were involved. Whilst I was only spectating today, rather than getting dirty, it was great to see the dubs going around a circuit. From my perspective it was well done, and I hope it happens again in the future when mine is up to the challenge.

Also, I've shrunk a few photos to get them attached. I hope you enjoy.

hey Jeff, nice to meet you..........have you got enough room to store the race notch for a couple of days?

I had to leave dad with the truck and trailer in Kempsey and catch the train home, and they are saying it will be a few days before the highway will be open again........if we can find somewhere to park it, he needs to get home too

I wondered how you went Daimo. There were 'highway closed at Kempsey' signs all the way home. If a carport is OK, you are quite welcome to store it at my house untill you can get it home. It is in Port Macquarie though - at 10 the Jib. Give me a ring on 0418 841581 if you want a hand.

Well done Club VeeDub.

Well done club veedub and all the competitors. I thought the turn out was great. There were many more cars than I was expecting. The cars were quick and reliable too.

Great work with getting the permit, the entrant numbers and training up all the club veedub members to do the marshalling at flag points and scrutineering. Hats off.

What a fun day. Great stuff.

something like that Reubs, the thing went well, handled great very neutral and predictable, nice gear ratios, brakes unreal........i had one session in it, kinda sorta blew everything away including the WRX.......loved it, had the race face once the flag fell, I would have signed my life over before hand that i was just going to putt around for a leisurely drive........kudos to Rod for the build.

THANKS AGAIN ROD, you made the trip worth while for me.........i will never forget my hoon in the yello monster........you are one of the most generous, approachable and down to earth people one could ever hope to meet. LEDGEND:cool:
