jak, the important question is, in that 10mins do you get to go up the twisties towards the F3? LOVE that road, played with a wrx in my pulstart when i was there once, the outlaws in the back didnt think much of it, they looked a lil pale when we got to the top

with the windows, think ill just go with the 1/4s but blast the frames & spray gloss black, no point leaving one itty bitty bit of chrome there, looks almost as clean as one peice windows that way too with the added benefit of actually sealing :)

Hi

That orange car is gorgeous, I'm thinking about going orange on my new car, I think it would look good with chrome or black out trim.

The only problem with painting the chrome trims is that it flakes off, eventually, I had blacked out trims on my 1302 in the 70s, it was a pain.

The only successful attempt was guy who stripped the 1/4 windows and window frames and had them powder coated.

Steve

PS, this what the Porsche headlights look like in the Aerolook guards

The grey plug is not really a plug, it's an earth and shield junction block. Ignore it.

Don't worry about the two wires going into the back of the A/C compressor, it is not something you will use in a beetle. Just cut the compressor clutch wire(the one that disappears into the front of the compressor) and connect it to the car's A/C system wiring. The ecu's A/C switch wire also connects to this wire to give an A/C on signal to idle up the engine for A/C load. bThe A/C system is unrelated to the ecu system apart from the signal wire.
The green plug is for the alternator not the A/C.

There's a main post with an 8mm thread/12mm nut and the oval shaped connector that the green plug connects to. If the alt has a 6mm thread/10mm nut main post with a 2 pin connector then you have the wrong alternator.

sits the same level as the sway bar & lower sections of the floorpan, the sump conveniently will be about the same, if not better when i get around to that side of things, but must actually have it bolted to the car before i worry about that.

the other end is getting a little scoop type thing made up to feed the rad from under the apron & between the aeros... made a rough template up for it by hand, no tools, just talented hands haha:yes: more on that later though

yeah that was sleep consuming me, im tirrreeeeeddd, confilicting interest of having a break to relax & working on this more! ah well, anyway, will try make the welds on the mount pretty, if they turn out nicely ill post pics

btw, your use of smiley things is below adequate, try harder next time!

no really it was, same with the stainless pipe i have lil bits of, shame its only tiny, its destined for a gearbox oil funnel thing though :)

oh, heres the mount all welded, still need to find some suitable bushings for it & make up bits to weld onto the forks/horns to match up with it obviously
http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/ae239/STIDUB/Image0516s.jpg
happy with how it turned out, not the best job but good enough, for those that are curious, the sides & bottom were fused, the top part was with filler rod
http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/ae239/STIDUB/Image0517s.jpg
