well heres one hell of an update! FIN 
its been ages since i updated here, I have gotten my P plates, done the interior, sussed out all the fiddly bits and got it regoed. it has been the
most awesome fun to drive! i cant believe its finally happened.
thanks everyone who has supported me and dad through the build, im 17 now and it has taken 4 years, but what a journey.

thanks guys, i bought some stp sound deadener matting today for the fire wall and another product for the floors. i will double everything up so it
will be uber quite. thanks Pumba, the carpet kit was from TMI, it is the RHD kit, trimming is required and i have to go get the sides overlapped that
i cut.

we bought the TMI kit overseas directly from the tmi website. some reason i ordered the vinyl edging but they gave me the crapier edging, a bit
dissapointing. Sound deading went on a few days ago, i layered the floor pan and bottom section of the firewall with the stock looking Tar board. i
layred that twice thick! and i used a product called "STP" on the top half of the firewall and that was also twice thick. after i did this i took it
for a drive, i wasnt impressed for the effort and money i spent. i realised i hadnt blocked up the passagers between the engine bay and cabin, so
after i took that for a drive with them blocked i couldnt believe the difference $2 worth of foam would do! blocking them passagers up gets rid of the
high "tapping" and other metallic sounds. so the next stage of sound deading will be to redo that foam with closed cell and sound deaden the front
wheel wells and doors and roof. will keep everyone updated.

Thanks for the info,shame they got the edging wrong,thats what worries me about buying one from overseas your stuck with what they send but i need to
get one to finnish my oval.

Oh yes how it does. I have never actually driven the bug out to a good location with the DSLR and taken some quality snaps with it. I will take it out
next weekend and take the time to get some photos of everything.
Unfortunately many of the photos from this thread have disappeared due to the fact that ImageShack scrwed me. Sigh. I feel as if many of the photos
may have been lost for good because some of the times i did not back them up on hard drive.
There are a number of things that i will be doing to the oval in the next month or so, fiddly bits that i just never got around too. The sorts of
things that have become apparently necessary after driving it on and off for a few years. I will document these modifications here.

So the bug has been driven a few miles since it was first put on the road (around 1500 km). The funny thing about these car is that they can be so
enjoyable to drive that some times you put off the small jobs. The car was registered in 2013 and since then the engine has only been out of the car
once. A number of leaks have now established themselves and hence grime and grot has started to build up. There is a leak coming from both swing axle
boots, the rear main seal, the fuel pressure regulator and the alternator stand. Considering all of these leaks i gathered that the best solution was
to pull the motor/transaxle and give it all a refresh.
Pulling the drivetrain also allows me to sort some other pressing matters.
1. I need to reinforce the body where i cut it away for the kafer brace.
2. I need to re-jet/tune the motor. This required the motor to be removed anyway.
3. The rear apron needs to be re-enforced where i cut sheet metal away. The rear apron was made removable so i could remove the engine easily. It
turns out that it need to be reinforced to put some rigidity back in to the structure.
Let the work begin...

I can never seam to capture this colour accurately. If people saw this oval in the flesh they would realize that this colour is not at all what it
looks like on the forums.

The engine is out and now i am starting on those fiddly bits. First thing was first. All that grime had to be cleaned off.
It turns out the leak was coming from the transaxle input shaft. Upon inspection of the seal it was some no name brand. Another seal has been ordered.
All the parts have been zip locked and stashed away. I have forgotten how little these vehicles need to be dissembled to remove the engine.
Off to the shops tomorrow. I'll be purchasing all new fluids for the trans axle and engine as well as a bunch of stainless fasteners. I am finding a
bunch of bolts/nuts/washers etc that have been installed by a previous me that frankly do not do the part they are on justice. I will keep with the
normal trend and try to make as much of it Stainless socket head cap screws.. you know, because race car.
