Been cruising Bluey lately, been going great. First big(ish) hiway run to Hervey Bay recently to pickup Richie's new '71 standard was fun. Really
loving the 3.8 cw/p.
And today been for a little blast with Deluxe66.......Damo's awesome ride is certainly that, one Deluxe '66. She rides sweet as.
Stopped at our local park for a few pics.

Andrew you'd be interested, I have been away for the weekend racing in the Bay 2 Bay yacht race. Had a great race. Light conditions but full of

I like your seat belt set-up Matt. I'm guessing the lap part mounts on the floor on either side and the rear between the rear seat then through the
floor?

| That's right Johnny, rear has two holes about 150mm apart and a large backing plate between the rear seal swabs, laps go to the
floor with backing plates.

Hey Mat,
Sweet ride. Great thread too, good to see the progress and evolution of your beetle.
I saw it at WSID earlier in the year, and look forward to seeing it down ere again once the engine work is done.
Keep up the good work! ... One day my project will be finished, if I get it looking and running half as good as yours I'll be a happy man.

Thanks Lachlan, still plenty to do but ol Bluey is shaping up nicely.
The latest upgrade is nearly finished, just need to get Bob or h to read this and come over to have a beer and help bleed the brakes......
I have finally got around to putting the correct master cylinder in. The old one was an early single circuit drum brake model, and with the disc
brakes that were fitted on the front, the master needed to be changed to the dual circuit disc brake type. The residual pressure valve is a lower
value with the disc brake master and although it had a good pedal before, the discs were constantly dragging. It also burns out the brake light
switch, so that will be all good now.
So....it's as usual.... out with the old
New parts ready to fit. Thanks Vintage for your constant supply of necessary obscure parts.
Once the master is fitted, the fluid res needed a custom mount fabricated.
It picks up the mudguard bolts and uses a stock res mount spot welded to the new mount. Once sandblasted it's ready for a bit of paint
Folded edges and pressed dimples make it nice and rigid and looks factory
All mounted
Ready to refit the tank. Don't mind the wiring and paint, that's another job.....
