Paul congrats on the work on Rosie. Its a real inspiration and as a learners manual on how to turn a Dub into a showpiece. You've answered so many of
my questions on how and what to do, from wheels and tyres to carbis seats and stereo. The Interior is brilliant!

Marilyn thanks for the compliment it is really appreciated. Westi my next major works are a new 1776 motor within the next 18 months. I will be
shortly installing new billet aluminium door strips and maybe powder coating the front and rear bar brackets. I also need to cut the rust out of the
doors at some stage.
It never ends but certainly worth the effort.

Very nice Bug mate!
I am more partial to the mid 60's beetles and I will soon be looking for one, however looking at how nice yours is coming up it's making me think
twice about passing on the later shape...hmmm

thanks Dan, I was in a similar position as you I wanted a pre 67 beetle as well but a few people said the 68-70 was a good medium model as it was
already upgraded to 12 volts, some have disc brakes etc. I am happy with my 69 but will always love an Oval or pre 67.
Interior is almost finish and my next project is a new 1776 engine, so buying parts a bit at a time then will have the engine built

Well I ended up showing Rosie at the Nationals, meet some great people and received a lot of good feedback on the interior and presentation of the
car. Rosie is never going to be a show winner but at least she is a solid car
Here she is positioned between two of the show winners.

Took rosie out for a drive on Saturday (yes i still drive although some people think i don't now I have my golf R) she was running fairly well
although at one stage I parked and when I try to start her took a long time before she kicked over. After driving for another 30 mins or so we stopped
at the shop for a few minutes when i tried to start her same thing occurred. She eventually coughed and spluttered then died.
she would not start at all and in the end i called NRMA after being advised the points were closed. When the NRMA turned up we removed the points and
proceeded to clean the points which were pitted. When he reinstalled the points we noticed the plastic spacer that runs along the cam that opens and
closes the points had broken off.
In the end Rosie had to be trayed home . Good lesson learned have ordered
two sets of points, a rotor , condenser, a new cap, leads and a coil. Will keep these in the car and will also buy a point file, feeler gauges and
keep some tools handy in the car .

Been a while since I updated this thread. Took Rosie for a drive today she is still running fine although won't idle once she has been running for
ten minutes, not too concerned the engine will be built early in the new year.
Here is a thread to the engine build
Engine Build
Still need to buy a few parts then Rosie will go for a heart transplant, here are a couple of photos taken today
