Hey Louis, good progress on the project, can I ask what cam and heads you are using for the combination with the Deutz and have you thought about lowering the compression in order to increase boost. I think those cylinders can take at least 20psi.

I love the exhaust set up hope you don't mind if I pinch some ideas for the upcoming 2180 twin turbo engine I am putting together for a Manxter.

Once again, props for the work so far now hurry up and get this beast fired up.

The heads are stock CU heads that were opened up for the Deutz barrels and then given a proper valve job. I would like to keep the compression high and rather run lower boost... the toyota turbos anyway dont like over 14psi.

I'm still inbetween two minds about running 2x waste gates or only one with a balance pipe... come on turbo experts give me a hand here??? :)

I would run two wastegate a close to the turbo merge on the exhaust system, that will keep boost under control and stop boost spikes

With those turbos on JZs they like combined boost and BOV control, just makes them smoother. But in this deal they are a fair way apart, here I'd probably run 2 as well. You could have both WG right on each turbo, but running a joiner exhaust pipe between them perhaps? It might help even WG control out maybe?
Dunno. :?:

Right now there is no merge on the exhaust system.
Cyl 1 - 3 is joined to one turbo and Cyl 2 -4 is joined to the other. Like you would do on a dual scroll system.

So either I need to make a balance pipe between the two manifolds before the turbos or add 2x waste gates. My thoughs are that running the two banks seperate should help with spool up time, but I've never done a twin turbo system before.

Seperate banks is how they work stock on the JZs, front 3 and back 3 feed their own turbo, so do VGxxTTs and RBxxTTs.
