[WTB - QLD] WTB/LOOKING for short term beetle or baja project SEQ. STILL SEARCHING!
WTB: Looking for any near complete beetle or baja for first car as a short term summer project. Doesn't need to be pretty but needs to be solid, but
i don't mind welding small rust repairs or panel beating. A pillar replacements and completely gutted sills are out of question however. Engine and
gearbox must be operational, with decent bottom end, and no 'gear popping' but don't mind oil leaks or needing tuning/ top end repairs. I'd be
happy to pickup from south east qld area. Thanks heaps! This will be a car to learn on during summer as a project for my first car(Name: Nick, Ph:
0431955328, Email: XD_Nicko_XD@hotmail.com , location: Edens Landing, Brisbane, Queensland 4207).
UPDATE: Search still ongoing (Date: 18th Dec 2012)

That there looks a bit out of our league, nice bug though.
Basically looking for a non-super bug, 70's or earlier (beam style) but will consider anything, even a super bug.
Anything about $1250 ish... or cheaper (be fair)
Hence we aren't after a rwc show car, but something the young fella can take an angle grinder to, sort out ball joints or boots, maybe take the
engine out for a gasket kit installation or clutch, proprietry engine component replacement, full carb tune or replacement etc. And maybe a couple
dinged up guards, or rust holes scattered around.
Something with a completel rusted out spare tyre wheel or rear apron would be a real winner!! (haha, baja influence there...)

yea not looking for a rwc vehicle, looking for a short term project, even if it adds to 2k+ in the long run. its for the learning curve by having the
experience of brushing over everything (panel beating, engine, suspension etc.).. and getting him off his darn computer games!!!
jk's Nic!

Hi there,
A mate of mine called recently and wants to sell a baja project he bought.
Its just been painted a nice blue, Its on a swing axle ball joint pan, so i guess its a 1500. It is in pieces as its just been painted and needs
reassembly. I believe its complete. He paid $3k for it about 6 months ago although he just got married and he doesnt work on cars(probably figured i
would finish it) Mentioned $1500 in conversation. I told him to list parts and take pics and I would throw it on the forum.
Not registered and located in Mudgee NSW.
Let me know and Ill get onto him for pics.
Matt
