The AB and AR engines are the 1300 twin ports from 71-75 standard beetles but nearly all of them are 1600 by now.
THe 1600 heads and jugs bolt straight on and the 1300 stuff hasn't been availble new for decades.

Have a look and see if there are dual heat risers on the manifold.
If it does there is half a chance it is still 1300
The 1300 was a small valve head and really boogied. Reckon you would be pressed to tell the difference with a 1600.
