Headlights?

Hey guys,
So I just re-installed my engine after replacing a cylinder head. After re-installing, the headlights were not working (only the small parking lights worked). So I changed the bulbs. When I did, not only did the new bulbs not work..but neither did the parking lights. So I changed to all new fuses and cleaned the connections on them...and still no luck. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

before you change anything else get the test light out and start looking for where the power is and is not..
that would be my first point of call before replacing bits

it's gotta be related to the wires you disconnected to remove/replace engine.
been caught by the numberplate light before.
and the earth wires to the body in the engine bay.

thanks all. after checking with meter, it had lost power from somewhere. couldn't figure out where the wires were going to in the back...but found an extra relay where someone had a spotlight or something hooked up years ago. so i transfered power from there. good enough for me! appreciate the help guys.
