Wanted to Buy NSW - type 3 bumper over riders - late model squareback

Hi All,

I'm after 4 bumper over riders to suit a late type 3 squareback, so the larger bumpers.

Does anyone know if another model has the same over riders or are these specific to type 3 bumpers.

Would like them in good condition or new. Let me know if you have some or know the whereabouts of some.

Thanks heaps,
Brendan

Yes rare as in Australia

You could use beetle ones and carefully.. grind them to fit..
touch up the bare metal with anti rust paint and use plastic channel on them , where they go on the bumpers...

they are supposed to have the channel between the edges of the over riders and the bumper.. to stop any movement which will cause them to mark and rust..

old beetles all used the plastic channel on the bumpers etc..
and special plastic gaskets

there are many different shapes of over riders and beware of the types common in the USA which also has the cutout for the big thick rubber strip as used on late model USA beetle bumpers .. [instead of the black tape on Our cars]

I'm having a clean up, I'll see what complete sets I have

Not that hard to find, I've bought probably a dozen sets over the years...

No promises - but when I get to that corner of the garage I'll send you a pic

You can buy em new from cip1.com

Cheers Ben

Thanks for the info Lee & Ben, much appreciated.

Ben, let me know if you have any complete sets that are in good condition once you've finished the clean up.

Regards,
Brendan
