How much Oil for 2 litre Kombi?

Hi everyone,

How much oil should go back in to a '79 - 2 litre Kombi?
Just got him recently and changed the oil filter and popping in some new oil.
Only got 1.5 litres out and was at the bottom of the minimum level on dipstick.
What is the optimum level?

Also, anyone in Adelaide have a tow bar to take a bike rack?

Thanks

Do you have a workshop manual?

The oil capacity is 3.5 litres. The oil filter probably holds close to a litre of that, so the rest (or close to it) should drain out. Bottom to top mark on the dipstick, I think, is 0.5 litres so sounds like yours was running low.

Add new oil until it reaches top mark (make sure it sits level, not on a slope), then start engine. Let it run for a few moments then re-check level and top up to top mark if required.

Actually I think it's 3.6 litre including the filter which is lucky to be .5litre. Low to High on the stick is one litre.
