Who says you cant adjust the camber on a swing axle

nice bit of engineering and cad work.
Bit pointless, but nice nonetheless
Heavier and more complex than the irs double jointed axles.

Yes but it has to be heavy and complex-ish so that the axle tube continues to be the second link of the suspension. If the IRS didn't have the A-arm
then it would flap around all over the place and so the adjustable section of the SA tube needs to be able to adjust yet stay rigid also
It's a nice idea but I wouldn't suggest giving up your day job if you went into production

Pity whoever wasted all that clever design time didn't put all that effort into coming up with something more useful.....such as an ashtray for a
motor-bike.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

I have actually seen guys on Cruisers/Harleys smoking whilst riding at low speeds in an open-face helmet, so the ashtray could be useful!

It reminded me of the land rover front axle.... Yes, the axle tube definately needs to remain stiff but I'd hate to think how heavy the "mechanism"
would be !!!!

I believe the live axles on v8 super cars actually do something slightly like this, using CV's in the ends of their housings.

I thought v8 super cars were all irs?
the production cars are so I cant see the race cars being live axle.

They have no parts in common with a production car except a bit of body shell, like NASCAR etc. I think they are changing to IRS maybe next year with
the new formula?

I just looked in up in wiki.
wow live axle with spoll diff. talk about primative. I guess thats why they slide out so easy.
live axle set up right is actually very good and easy to drive. but the spools  I thought thats something wankers buy off ebay so they can do fully sick burnouts bro.
