Headliner photo AU 66 Beetle anyone?
Does anyone have a photo of the headliner set up for a AU built 1966 beetle?, From my searches on the net and looking at the car. It appears that the
liner may only be for the centre section of the roof to the edge of the doors down to the pillars only in a perforated off-white vinyl type material
and not like a European spec that run under the rear and side windows.
The car currently only has section of the home made material on the roof only but can assuming the above based on the clips on the pillars and roof
edge.
Any feedback or assistance on the set up would be great.
Dan

Not sure how helpful this will be but it is an Australian brochure of the '67 which is basically the same as a '66. My '67 doesn't have any tabs
inside to fit a headlining like a deluxe model I can only assume that mine is a 1300 Custom and not a Deluxe. Yours may be a standard (no frills)
model also.

If it doesnt have the crimp tab things down the pillars and along the top door jams your bug is a standard and would have had the gold stripey center
section headliner.
Aussie Deluxes stopped that headliner material in 64-65 and went the white perforated style like 65busser posted, but they kept using it in
standards.
67 customs had it too but from memory its grey not gold in them.

Sander - thanks for mentioning the Club VW link.
Unfortunately that Australian brochure photo you posted is labelled wrong - it's for the Aussie 1966 models, not 1967. Look at the models it
illustrates.
1966 Australian Deluxe Beetles had the new 1300 engines, but the Standard kept the 1200 as shown.
In 1967 the Standard was replaced by the Custom, a similar but slighty less autere model with the same 1300 engine as the Deluxe.
