Removing burnt oil from exhaust pipes

Anyone got any suggestions for removing burnt oil off exhaust pipes? it seems my mystery oil leak(s) have dripped oil onto the exhaust pipe and it's all burnt and crusty. I have been doing some googleing and seen people mention easy off bam oven cleaner and wipe off with steel wool. anyone had any success with it? or know of anything better?

You can't really notice it from looking at the car. you really need to have your head under the car to see it... but i know its there. and there's a faint smell of burning oil that arises from time to time.

this much burnt oil only after 1 week of driving :grind:

cheers,
Farhan
