Hoist time for the Ghia

Recently, thanks to a mate, I got some hoist time for the ghia.

I managed to fit a new dual master cylinder, custom made thanks to the boys at VVDS.

I also had to put a stock set of shocks on the rear. One of the air shocks blew on the way to Nambucca this year and I have to chase up (and customise!) a new pair.

I'm happy with the car's condition underneath, considering it is 20-years this year since Mike and built it.

Yep, still some awsome detail under there. This was one of the cars that caused my bad obsession with the VW marque too......how many km have you done in the 20 years?

...and so the drought breaker has struck again!!
Over the past few weeks I have been doing a few things on the car in time for the Dubs to the Pub (Abbey) event.
Yesterday, due to pissistant rain the organisers had to postpone the event!
My apologies to the Bad Little Buggers club.

Daimo, I don’t think I can be fully blamed for your ‘bad obsession’. On average the car has done less than 1,000km per year. It was in storage for close to nine years while I was working in FNQ. In reality it was never going to be a daily driver.

Chris are you really offering to store it!?

Mike I can remember a marathon effort to get it finished for the 1993 VW Nationals. In the end, with Mike Martinez, we worked for two days and two nights straight. I slept at the event!!

I look forward to seeing you all next weekend at the Sydney Drags.
You can be sure I’ll be leaving the drought breaker at home!!

John
