Race fuels
Is anyone here using vp c16 race fuel? I'm just taking a step back and looking into other fuels available without going to the extent of methanol...
I was unaware of the major mods needed on the holley in order to run meth and I noticed most of the turbo guys in the states run c16 and highly
recommend it...

At the moment im using Sonoco MAX NOS. Ill tell you how it goes if i ever get to have a run with it. Its 120 octain. I did get some info on a new fuel
on sat. When i get home ill send you website link. Cant.you buy holly carbs new already setup for meth???

There's lots of other fuels part from c16 that may have enough octane for your requirements. what sort of power boost comp etc are you looking at?
Petrol does make life so much easier than methanol maintenance wise.

E85 is high maintainence as well. If you have it in a daily driver it's ok but if the car sits for periods of time then corrosion occurs. Doesn't
seem to like carbs from what I have read and been told. I've seen what it did to a sti circuit car's tank and fuel lines and it ain't pretty!
Troy made pretty much the same power as Davo on pump 98 with about the same boost and lower comp when the engine was in the type 3.

Wow! Hey hey! Forget that! I'm gonna look into e85 a bit more I think... With the cherry lube additive the corrosion should be kept to a minimum....
Just need to look at how it will run through a carb.

we have had good results with 102
they do sell e85.

Most of the E85 associated problems seem to be undetermined.
I run it in a Volvo 850 T5 on petrol tune with 40% bigger injectors and 14psi boost otherwise stock car. The heads upon inspection looked super
clean.
There are a few people in the states and Europe that I've had contact with that run E85 in their street/strip VWs without any problems whatsoever,
cheap, more HP, lower temps, efficient burn and the ability to raise c/r. All positive attributes AFAIC.
I have a set of 45 DRLA set up for E85 that are waiting for the 11:1 1300 FK87 mouse
bitten by the bug..........several times

Quite a few people I know thru hillclimb converting across to E85.
All are EFI water pumpers, and only changes they've made have been richening the maps and adding some timing. Most are claiming more power and lower
head temps, but so far haven't been seeing lots of times falling ???
Same sort of thing happened when the V8 SuperTaxi's converted across.
2 guys I know of are in process of upping their CR's as the second step, so guess will see what happens then...

Talk to Aaron about it, he purchased from a different place and thinks maybe consistence could be a issue between suppliers so tuning could be
required after each purchase, that's not the only time I've heard that. Methanol is easier with a larger room for error when it comes to tuning

Even with powerplus fuels anything over 95octain needs teflon lines. that is the company i was talking about mick. They have had problems with
corrosion!!!!! at a $1p/l irs the best way to go. alot of people are using it with carbs. ide look into that more if i was you. best bang for
buck!!!!! Like someone said previously, the cost for your carby setup will be ofset very quickly by the cost of the meth!!!!

methanol,
 all e- 85's are corrosive,
so why not put it on the meth.once most people have had meth they usually have troubles getting back off it,so it must be good.
you should get on the meth too benny ,as what every your smoking at $400 a drum ,ain't workin all that great.

That's the problem though frosty, if I really wanna make use of the power available from this engine, pump gas ain't gonna cut it.... Say for
instance I'm looking at 8.5:1 or 9:1 comp and 15 psi boost??? I can't see that happening on pump gas. I mean if I'm looking at it all wrong and
pump gas is an option someone please tell me! I am not running cooling tin either so I like the idea if a fuel with cooling properties...

I ran 16.5psi boost on bp98 octane, comp was 7.7 with no probs at all so I think you'll be ok

With higher comp you just might have to drop some timing, I was planning for 20psi but injectors maxed out
