Qld Hillclimb Champs - Mt Cotton, 31 May - 2nd June

Supp regs and entry forms have recently gone up for the QHC.

As usual is being hosted by the MG Car Club of Qld at their Mt Cotton track about 30km south of Brissie... very technical little track which is a ton
of fun, and generally an awesome venue for both competitors and spectators.

To give you an idea...
 - competitor view (from my car) is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqcfcvO-Q9s&list=UUkixUA63mKPKoKhGnJsnmQg&index=1
 - and the spectator view is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtgt0aGfv2I&list=UUkixUA63mKPKoKhGnJsnmQg&index=6.

To be honest tho I'm not all that quick around the place... Nathan and Heath am pretty sure have both down mid-low 48's in their Beetle's.

I'll be there with bells on... anyone else interested in having a crack ???

Be cool to see your stoopid-quick little toy back there Miniman !!!

Chris - car doesn't have to be vintage or anything like that... plenty of modern cars run... but since it's a state championship all cars have to be
CAMS log booked.

CAMS Level 2S or higher license required.

For people just starting out there's also a Test & Tune day on 19th May... still need a CAMS license, but cars don't have to be log booked for
that one.

Can run without a logbook to the discretion of the stewards; if you want to and you don't have a logbook email them first. I assume preference would
be given to logbooked cars. Refer to Schedule L section 1 of the CAMS Manual
 http://www.camsmanual.com.au/pdf/10_gen_req/GQ13_Schedule_L_2013-1.pdf

I won't be able to compete Sides but I'll try and get down to the track!

Hmm, yeah - dunno - supp regs say all cars have to have a log book, but sure - no harm in emailing 'em and asking.

How's about at the T&T on the 19th Shaun ???

Maybe; what's the deal with a CTP extension? Do they mean just your normal 3rd party?

Regarding the logbook the supp regs reference that section of the manual

Ahh, yes - the good 'ol CTP Extension !!! Obviously you haven't run in a CAMS event up here eh ???

It's a QLD only thing... bit of an out the Govt gave CAMS basically, so that road registered cars are covered by CTP while trundling around the pits
and paddock rather than relying on CAMS insurance.

By law your CTP provider has to give to you - just need to go into a branch and ask them for a "CTP Rally Extension" and they'll give you a letter
saying your car is covered for the dates of the event. Some insurers charge a small amount for them (like $5 a throw) while Suncorp who I use give
them out free... and have recently found out they'll even do them over e-mail !!!

If your car is unregistered or registered in a different state then don't need to do anything... just another case where us in QLD are a bit
special.

yeah it`s simply a case of the idiots in Qld Govt & insurance system not knowing what they`re doing,,,

because --> lets say we are already registered & CTP-d up yeah??? so we have already got the situation covered (*just like every other state)

sooooo,,, seeing as we are already covered by CTP & the proof is by the fact that the car is already registered,,, what do we need to get that
piece of paper for?---> Nothing,,, no reason,,, that`s right, it`s a total waste of time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you could simply take your number plates off to race too,,, but also is a waste of time, because even unregistered cars are still insured at the
track by CAMS

it`s just a joke to make everyone spend time & effort & in some cases money to do something totally useless,,, & for absolutely no
reasonable reason !!!!!

typical Govt & insurance company cluster-Phark

what a total waste of time,,, always has been & always will be until some one with some brains takes charge of the situation

what a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry, rant over,,,, this particular point has been eating at me for a few decades now :-)
