IRS rubber brake hose- too short
Hi guys about to have a final try at brakes.
When pan was off I fitted the hard lines up. I converted to IRS & just tapped the top of the pivot boxes to affix the hard line brass fitting was
quite neat but when I finally put new rubber lines in when the car was back on top the distance between diagonal arm and pivot box is just toooo long.
I can do up the rubber lines but they have a nasty tension that will be no good.
Is there a rubber line I can buy standard that is a little longer but not too long. I was thinking ball joint front rubber hose but may be too long.
... ? If you have a suggestion a part number would be great. Saves me the hassle of buying the wrong part.

When I did my IRS conversion I'm pretty sure I used Swing flexi as when I measured the IRS was too short. I also used a pipe bracket on the drivers
side instead of the IRS standard way. That is the drivers flexi connects directly to the brass T junction piece.

Hi
CIP1 used to always show the length of brake hoses so they didn't have so many returned... lol
whether they still do I'm not sure...
at least that would get You a part number..
cheers

VW Heritage used to do this too but less detail since they redid their website a few years back.
Maybe Wolfsburg or West Coast Metric will describe lengths.

I think the Type 2 rear are slightly longer, if you give a measurement of what your minimum length is, I'll check what will fit for you, also I
assume it's the Male-Female one your talking about.

Cheers Matt,
I'll whip it off and measure and estimate minimum length and send you a PM. Cheers for everyone's help.

YOu can also have a look here VW Heritage
brakes
By looking at the different years and vehicle you can see which pipe will fit for you. I found it most helpful when trying to find the hose for my IRS
conversion
