And what is with the chain?
Does that live inside the engine all the time or is a build thing?

:fakesniff:Some engines are designed right from the beginning with performance as a priority. (see pic above)
Some are designed to cost as little $$$ to produce. (Look in your driveway)
The thing they have in common are they are able to be driven flat out all day and get you home.
The saying, "can't make a silk purse out of a pigs ear" is beginning to make perfect sense!

that drive the cams on the head. the shaft to which they are connected to is not a cam but the IMS. That thing with the green o rings is a 2 stage dry pump by the looks of it.

I was like what kind of engine cost that much?

then I looked, Carrera quad cam, of course. They cost a min of 100k for a rebuild original. So yeah thats not so ridiculous given what they go for.

but still, deep pocket people only.

I remember reading somewhere about plug changes on these motors. Apparently you needed an "asbestos octopus" or you just pulled the whole motor out....

I'll be keeping my stocker for now I reckon. ;)

Plugs would take ten minute's and are visable in the view of the engine in the car, the valve adjustment is the same as a 911 with adjusting screws using a 13 mm spanner and a special feeler gauge.

You certainly wouldn't buy it for the HP! $ per HP could go a VERY long way at half that budget. Just saw they wanted $19,000 for a crankshaft! and $2200 for a distributor... wow!

Parts wise, must be the worlds best paid fitters and turners.

Nothing to do with highly paid fitters and turners, limited production, exclusivity and quite a few people who would not think twice about it.
