WTB Type 3 rear seat with centre armrest

I have a 66 Fastback. Looking for a rear seat back with fold down centre armrest in working condition. Can pick-up with my courier if interstate pending I can get a reasonable rate from your location.. I'm located in Sydney.
Ok if it needs a retrim.

I believe they would have been in the fully imported type 3 1500S halfbacks/notchbacks..

with the nice hounds tooth cloth upholstery..
which the Aussie UV rays destroyed very quickly..

anyone know of any with vinyl covered armrest??

best of luck

I've got a long way to go yet before I start on the interior but it can't hurt to put the feelers out.
I won't spend on shipping one from the USA either. That money could be better spent elsewhere.

I think 'halfback' was used locally in Australia amongst VW dealers and a few local marketing campaigns but the term lost traction over the years. I recall seeing an old video once of VW ads or it could have been an internal sales training video. Sorry, my recollection is a bit sketchy but if I find the video again I will share it.

You will need luck finding an armrest seat as they were only on imported notchback and fastback models, never seen one for sale ( that wasn't fitted to a car) in Australia.

The "halfback" term is used in the 1972 Australian type 3 sales brochure ( there's a copy in theSamba archives ).
