I did some maintenance today. Who can guess what I did based on the tools I used?

First correct guess gets bragging rights.

Can't read sizes on the spanners clearly, but they LOOK to be 24, 13 and 11.

If so then what Chris said plus wheel alignment and brake bleed.

Allen key for adjusting the fan belt on a type 4, and a 13. I'm assuming the spanners are 10,13 and 22. So maybe a 1700 type 4 as there is no 14 for the 1800/2000 tappet screw......

My kombi inner and bug outter have a combo of allen key drive and star pattern bolts. Maybe replacement high tension bolts from the retailer could only provide allen key drive at the time, as the star pattern was more vw specific then generic bolt drive.

I bought my shafts 2nd hand so wouldn't know the origins. My original bug ones were star drive pattern.

I have read oll your comments so far. I probably should have posted the sizes as well.

24mm, 14mm spanners, Stubby and Feelers for checking the tappets on a 2ltr type 4. 24mm goes on the alternator to line up TDC. 14mm is the tappet screws and stubby and feeler does the adjustment.

5mm Allen, 13mm spanner, 13/16" spark plug socket and 1/2" drive for cylinders 1 and 3 and extension for cylinders 2 and 4, when replacing plugs on a type 4.
The allen key is for the sump nut on a type 4, the 13mm spanner is for the oil strainer, and the rag can be used to get the filter off.

All in all, I changed the oil, and filter, cleaned the strainer, checked my clearance on the tappets, and replaced all 4 plugs. There are no winners, as no one considered an oil change.

Good guesses all round, CV's can be done with that tool set, as can a fan belt adjustment. I think the Allen key might change from a 5mm to a 6mm for the CV's but I didn't post sizes. And the spanners may have had a rub :)

Thanks for participating.
