Is this front Sway Bar upside down?

Hi Guys

This might be a stupid question but here goes.

Is this front sway bar installed upside down? Is so, what would the reason be and does it make a difference apart from road clearance? Could it be due to the adjusters that are installed on the torsion tubes?

Thanks
Regards
Greg

Yup.

It'll pivot and move roughly the same, but any pre-load in the spring steel will be the wrong direction. Probably make stuff all difference really. IMHO the stock sway bar is pretty useless anyway, esp if you go putting in better shocks, wider tyres, different offset rims and so-on.

Could it be due to the adjusters that are installed on the torsion tubes?

Yup - probably. Either that or whoever fitted it didn't realize. Will it clear the adjusters the other way round ?

Hi Dave

I'm thinking that I may take it off and see if it'll fit the correct way and clear the adjusters....sounds like a job to do this long weekend :tu:

The lower the bus goes, the more the sway bar pivots down towards the ground away from the beam, and also drops to the ground. So lowering 75mm can make the swaybar 100mm colser to the ground

But I assume it still should be installed the correct way and orientation?

Reckon you'll find it'll get pretty close to the adjusters cos from memory mine sat pretty close to the std central grub screw.

madness is in the eye of the beholder
