My standard 63 bug

This is my 63 beetle. I intend to lower it fit some BRMs and fit a better engine. I fitted new seat trims and will recarpet it then cruise. Its totally rust free so i'm going to leave the body as it is for now

Thats a good Standard!

Looks to still have a bit of the pin stripe left on the side?

Is it still original paint?

A few more pics would be great, inside as well.

Not many early Standards around.

Looks like a 63 to me.

It's a standard.. or the pov pack lol. Lack lots of little bits and pieces like glove box lid, chrome trim etc.

Very cool :)

I noticed that. no radio, no mirrors on the outside, one sun visor, rubber floor mats, no moulds and black 1/4 windows. Sure is povo. lol . obviously for the budget minded buyer

Hell that is good!!

They did not paint Standards as well as Deluxes so it's rare to see one so clean and rust free.

Looks all original to me.

Does it have the interior light block off plate? I'm not sure from the photo.

Must be later 63 because I've seen one with no hole for the interior light.

Here is a link to a PDF of a 64 Aussie Brochure. Go right to the end and I think its a pic of a 63 Standard like yours when it was new.

The cover for the interior light is a rare thing, they are usaully missing.

I don't know where to get a brochure from except Ebay maybe.

If the cover was plastic it probably rotted and fell apart. I have been watching ebay for brochures but haven't seen any yet. I have them for all my other cars.
