Nice. cant wait to see some more pics.
I will have to get it over to Newey for a cruise. might take it over for a run closer to Christmas.
I had to take 100mm out of the rack to make it fit. I still need to extend the legs about 15mm to give it a bit more clearance of the roof.

Well done mate, nice colour your Bug.
Do you have to log all journeys with your "H" plates?

No Rob. It can only be driven to club events or other clubs events if we put them in our calendar. I have to notify the club registrar each time I drive it. It can de driven for short trips for tuning and maintenance. ( it always needs tuning LOL ) I will get full rego when I can afford it. I have the Plates on hold for it VW40HP. Love cruising around in this old girl

oldskoolguy I'm not really into the red 14" wheels. I thought the original wheels with original silver painted caps would look cool 135s on the front and 205s on the back. I'm going to get a wider pair of rear wheels when I can afford them. I have heaps to do before the VW spectacular so the wider rims will have to wait

Thanks Allbones.
Its a pretty nice old girl. It was rust free until I found a tiny bit in the left hand door but its pretty minor.
I'm going to lower it a bit so the tyres are just tucked into the guards

That car looks really great, with all the right patina.

Won't take long for the wheels and hub-caps to develop matching patina....just needs a bit of road grime, dust, and dogs' piss to bring them up to scratch.

Thanks Greg. I got some road grime on them today and hopefully some more tomorrow. It ran great today so I'm getting more confident about driving it to Valla in July. Are you going to Valla Greg ?
