Engine bay seal
Been searching here, Samba and Google to find out which way up for the rear seal with no joy. Is this way up correct for this type? Sorry for the mini

For what type of vehicle. I was think Beetle looking at your avatar, but that seal is nothing like the one in my 61 Beetle sorry.

Yeah, its nothing like what came out but when I sit the rear tin in there it sits over/under the lip real nice. The length may come in handy to take
up any clearance issues (caused by non-genuine unapproved panel modification:smilegrin which my arse end definitely has.
Was a absolute bitch to fit and would hate to have to redo it, easier to pull the motor back out

Hi
I prefer the early model engine rubber..
its shaped like a K
and one lip sits on top and one lip sits under the tinware..
I have never liked the late seal.. it goes very hard and makes taking the engine out difficult...
look for early rubber engine seal... 111-813-705A

It had the K shape originally, I just ordered a rear seal and this is what turned up. I had some big gaps with the old seal so I'm hoping this one
will fill them in

as You can see from this pic
I am using rubber cut to shape... for the rear section..
as the rear apron is fibreglass and comes off...
early section on the sides..
I would buy the best quality rubber seal You can get..
CIP1 still sell the German ones.. as they go hard as a rock with the heat, because the rubber is so thick...
unlike the early seals -- would be better if they were longer too... the bits going either side of the tinware..
