any tips for installing new windscreen
hey good peeps, im fitting a new windscreen rubber to my fasty, any good tips?
the old one perished and leaked in the rain.

Put the join in the middle at the top.
Greased cotton rope in the join/seam push firmly into place. I think you start top corner and push with one hand and. Pull the rope out slowly with
the other.

Two people make it way easier, use Glycerine (sp) from a chemist for lube. Also electrical wire or strong cord to 'string' it in. Feel free to come
and do it up here if you want.

Lawnmower starter cord is the industry standard. For 1 time use you can use a thick electrical wire, not as thick as an extension lead though.

when i done my 66 square i tried 2 different pro windscreen installers with no joy
I rang vintage vee dub where i got my rubbers from and he told me that they where the experts and you need to take the bonnet of and have 2 guys
standing inside the front and push whilst another is inside pulling the cord
So i towed it down to Boris at vintage to get it done

Sorry 66 type 3 but i have worked on that car and it has some of the worst rubber i have seen, the chrome trimm is plastic!!

hi empi well the rubbers where supplied by Boris at Vintage vee dub and from memory they where west coast metric rubbers so may be he fitted different
rubbers when i dropped it to him.I felt that i was ripped when I picked it up as it cost me a fortune for him to do it.
Never went back after that as I felt he stung me

I'd hate to do it single handed...
its bad enough with two people..
even better if one of them isn't Me.. 
I use electrical cable about 4mm .. and soapy water..
I heard of a fellow who used Armorall on the rubbers..
shut the door and both side windows popped out.. lol
didn't break though.,. lol
