Those things are rubbish, put in an electric washer bottle. Unless your car is a 100-point concours trophy winner, you'll never regret it!

Does Your water bottle fit into the spare tyre like a beetle one??
I think it sits in the boot, on the side..??

how long is Your hose..??

I may have one here..
I should have one somewhere as I was going to use one in My beetle, but went electric instead.. not sure if it will be long enough??

If Your car is Great and All original... then nothing looks more out of place then a generic square water container... lol

what year is your car?

if its 72? onward then its easy as there is an electrical switch in the washer stork already.
71 and before is a pita to convert the existing switch to electric. I stuffed many dash switches for this and in the end I gave up lol

if you don't care about the looks mount a push button in one of the spare holes in the dash, easy!

or if you want original, get new hoses, keep the air pressure hose off the tyre when not in use and connect it when you want to drive and use it. will safe guard against a random hose coming off/bursting in the car and dumping all the water inside and the hoses will last a lot longer.

A clever thing to do is a get a SMC or Festo inline pneumatic ball valve on the tyre end of the line and you can switch on and off between use.

line this :tu: And you can get versions that release air from the non supply side which will dump the air from the bottle when turned off.

Well thanks for that Steve..
I hooked up a temporary washer system [electric] to get My car passed in 2005 [blue slip]
and since I just tell the mechanic I don't have a working washer..

and they have never said anything.. lol

but I'll do that to a spare wiper switch over the wet weekend..

just a note.. Don't go asking for a micro switch as they are a special switch... rectangular in shape [roughly] and have screw holes and a very small button protruding out of it..
so the switch is large enough to be mounted with scews
but the micro bit is the small button..

I have a collection of those small switches.. from Dick smiths when they sold good bits..

cheers

LEE
