SOLD - Bolt on Turnkey (Complete) EFI System for Type 1
FOR SALE
Complete turnkey EFI System for VW motor - $1,950.00.
This custom setup was originally installed on the 1916cc motor that was in Stenguns Blue 1967 Beetle and is no longer needed as a new motor running
dual carbies has been installed.
Everything was working perfectly prior to removing it as I drove the car from Brisbane to Sydney with no problems.
Absolutely everything (including a short wiring loom, new looms can be easily purchased) is there to provide a turnkey system...apart from the obvious
need to set it up properly and tune it.
The ATOM G4 ( http://www.linkecu.com/products/engine-management-ecus/g4_atom ) is a highly configurable ECU and is configured by
downloading the free software from the LinkECU website. All documentation is available free from the website also.
I have used their Customer Support as I wanted to find out more about the Atom G4 (they are based in New Zealand) and I have to say that they were
really fantastic.
The following parts are shown in the attached photo:
1. Custom made Plenum x 1
2. CB Injector inlet manifolds x 2
3. Injectors x 4 (Serviced and flowed at 142cc per minute)
4. Fuel Rails x 2
5. Cold Start circuit x 1
6. KN Style air cleaners x 2
7. 60 mm Single Throttle Body
8. Scat degree pulley fitted with Crank Trigger Wheel x 1
9. Crank trigger sensor x 1
10.Atom G4 ECU with mounting bracket x 1
11.New Injector connectors and boots x 4
12.NEW TPS x 1
13.New Air Temp Sensor x 1
14.Coil pack x 1
15.Piersburg EFI Electric Fuel pump x 1
16.Oil Temp Sensor x 1 (With mounting plate)
17.Fuel regulator x 1
18.Air Cleaner manifold x 1
19.Miscellaneous aluminium tube connection pieces
20.Wiring loom-shortend (not shown as I just found it-21/07/2014)
Some interesting things to note:
1. The Atom G4 price new is about $1,200.00
2. The cost of the new TPS was $170.00
3. The cost of the new Air Temp Sensor was $61.00
4. The cost of the injector service etc was $230.00
This comes to more than $1,600.00!
As you can see from the above, the $1,950.00 asking price is somewhat of a bargain.
Everything is located in Sydney (Willoughby) and I am more than happy to arrange postage if needed.

I decided to have a new motor built and anguished over whether or not I would use the EFI configuration or switch over to dual carbies like I had on a
previous motor and keep the EFI setup for another project. I decided to go with carbies as Rod Penrose, who built the motor, is more familiar with
carbs.
So, I was going to keep the EFI but decided to sell it instead of having it sit in a box in my shed.

The only wiring that isn't supplied is the actual "wiring harness" that goes from the ECU to the injectors etc. Everything else is provided.
Many of the critical parts are 100% brand new.
This is because whoever installed it originally must have had their eyes closed and it was a real mess.
I assumed that whoever purchased it or if I reused it, would purchase a nice brand new wiring harness to ensure that it was installed correctly and
neatly.

Hi mate,
No idea regarding the HP of the 1916. All I can say is that the drive from Brisbane to Sydney was great and the motor was great to drive.
Regarding the loom, my suggestion is to simply purchase a loom either from Linksys direct or from one of the many Linksys distributors in Australia
unless you get a kick out of making looms 
The looms for the Atom are available in 400mm, 2.5m and 5.0m lengths

Just went looking online for looms, cant find much info, let alone a price. why does it not come with the loom? even if it is a mess, it would be
usefull for plugs and rewire.

Hi Boozo,
I just went out to pull out all of the hardware and found the wiring loom! I forgot that I cut it off when removing everything 1(see attached
photo).
All that's required is to extend the wires that are needed and you're good to go.
Let me know how you want to proceed.
