T'was a great night for the Volksies,
great turn out of cars but a bit of a delay with the Mitsubishi oil down.

I got a bit loose on both runs but engine sound pretty close to the mark with the new air shrouding,
and some reasonable sixty foot times. 11.46@121.97 best before trailering it to avoid panel damage.

Frosty was there, but broke some 40hp axles I think.

as was Andrew Murphy, Matt Berry and Nick Bence (Outrage).
Thanks to all the Volksy blokes that came out in support!

Had a good night catching up with everyone! I got the ok ( just) to have a launch and idle it down the track as I didn't have all the paperwork from andra. BUT it didn't even get to 60 feet ,we think it has broken both alxes (fingers crossed) ,thankfully it didn't drop oil on the track too.
Matt's was my pick of the night, sounded and went very well!!!!

Tops night lads , it was nice to be back at the straight track. I have some video but its phone quality. Will post up tonight. All the Dubs were sweet and the crowd loved them, (I was sitting in the stands listening to the comments).
Hope to run the bus down the 1/4 sometime soon.

Car looked good on the track Frosty and did a good skid so not all was lost.
The final run with Nick and Matt was a top run....well done lads.
Good to catch with everyone and get a methenol fix from DBs car which looked strong on the launches...pity track wasn't up to spec after the oil down.

One more before jambo me thinks. Just give me some time to get mine back together.

Hey Guy's, Well done to All the guy's who made the trip out to race. Pitty bout the delay's because that means less footage for me but ive been through it today. Starting work on a compilation vid of the whole night, might even throw in a couple runs from some cool non vw's too. I only managed 1 incar shot of Matt Berry after all the stuffing around...

Here's some pics of the night!

Cool pics Dave :tu:

Leon's brother running an 8.88sec in his turbo XW falcon was definitely the (non-vw) run of the night.

Was not the best of nights for my performance. Hp was down but still was great to get back on the track. 2 runs mid to high 13s at 99mph. Nothing broke and more data achieved. So all in all was a good night.
It was fantastic to see so many bugs......
Need more of that. Going to try and get a pass for next Wednesday night.

Great result Matt.
What revs were you taking it to ?
So whats the next go fast mod you want to do ?

Its great that the Vintage Speed system works that well, giving not only looks and sound but also maintaining great performance.

Thanks Craig, definately happy with the night. Considering the set up is hardly race worthy, very old T/A radials, minimal suspension travel in the rear and a highway cruiser transmission, I think she did pretty well.

Revs, about 6500
Next? man, happy to go to the shops and cruise, that's what it's built for, oh, and a fill in racer now and then. :)

Yes, nice to see the VS is capable of some power, there is a blurb stating the heater box version is good for up to 180. I reckon I must be close to 170 at the flywheel, but I'm using the header 42mm Superflow version.
