LOOKING FOR A CHEAP BATTERY ?? ENDED UP WITH THE CORRECT SIZE FROM NRMA..
My Wife"s 2009 Suzuki Swifts battery is still the original one that came in the car. I knew it would need replacing soon but You don't like
replacing them while they are still going.. lol
although it hasn't not started, the -2C temperature last week and the cold mornings since have made it known that the battery is on the way out.. So
I googled Exide and came up with Beaurepaires... They no longer sell EXIDE but the Marshall batteries they do sell, are really EXIDE... lol
and they are giving $30 for the old battery..
so the New sealed Battery with 2 years warranty will be $105 fitted..??
I asked if they sold a better battery, but was told that IS a Good battery... ?? I just hope the battery is the correct one for the car and NOT a
very small low amperage job???
Ill see on Wednesday... My EXIDE Battery for My beetle cost Me $180 about 8 months ago.. and that was a good price.. similar battery from NRMA was
quoted about $230 ???

Don't know if you have a Hastings Deering dealer in your area (Caterpillar agent) maybe only QLD NT and SA. Anyway check out Cat batteries, very good
price and 5 year warranty(pro rata) I replaced my battery in my Hilux after 3 years for about 75-85 $ from memory, whatever it was it was a great
price. Up here if you get 2 years out of a battery (any brand) you count yourself lucky

Try NRMA Batteries. Got one for the X-Trail. If I recall correctly, $199 for 3 year warranty.

Seriously though, there should be a CCA rating for the car and as long as you go over that it will be fine. I used to have an old landrover with a
Holden red motor. The battery needed for that motor was a very low CCA battery, whereas if it had been a rover engine the rating needed was a lot
higher.
I think as long as you get one that physically fits, is big enough and has a good warranty that should be suitable. At least the Aussie made ones are
optimised for our conditions. We got 4 years from our Nissan Xtrail battery which was purchased at a department store, exide I think it was, was about
$150 with 2 years warranty. Still going fine when we traded the car.

+1 to CAT Batteries ^^
I have one in my Baja and will be fitting a second one shortly. The one I have fitted is over 880CCA and can run my fridge for about 12 hours
continuously. Obviously that much grunt isn't required in a Swift but they do make all sizes of batteries, I think even some 6V ones from memory. My
battery only cost about $120 and has a 5 year warranty as mentioned above.
The CAT dealer for NSW is Westrac. The nearest branch to Scone would either be Tamworth or Newcastle. But that's a long way to go to get a
battery.

i like delkor batteries. mine from 08 is going perfect and seen 150k so far. Cost 140 back then.
Don't get a century though. If i had kept all the century batteries that died and those that were ok I would have a pile of a dozen dead and 0 good
ones.
Just dumped a century out of my new car as it wouldn't start even charging it and chucked in a 5 year old used AC delco one for now and that works
perfect lol.

how about a 9v battery, surely one in your smoke alarm in the kitchen will do the trick n no more annoying false alarms when the toaster is in melt
down..
and two AA's, prolly from your child's latest birthday prezzie, tell em the smoke came out of the toy 
join them up in series, surely a few winnie blues silver foil wrappers will sort that 
and a 12volt system ready to get the spook swift off to a flying start 
happy wife = happy life

This is a ridiculous thing to say. Smoke alarms should not be in the kitchen, they should be just outside your bedroom.

I used to sell CENTURY batteries many years ago, and had about 40% failure rate... even with their New sealed sit in any position battery, the
failure was still 30%... went to EXIDE... and the failure rate was ?? can' remember if any failed... lol That is why I usually buy EXIDE... Only
Century here in town [plus the VERY EXPENSIVE NRMA] and I really didn't want to buy one...
I'm just hoping its the correct battery, and not some tiny little battery that was in some small japanese cars..????
I forgot to check today...??
what the original battery crosses over to.... ???
I think batteries have gone up $105 in the past 10 years???
and many now are not just lead acid batteries....

I've been buying batteries from next door to my boss's old office. "Alco"
I get 2 years warranty and attractive discount.
before I bought the new battery for my car I had bosch European 500cca in for 6 years

my old boss used well actually still does sell century and swears by them, I think he is an idiot lol. Worst car battery you can get, that and born
again. Those are hopeless too but at least they only cost 50 bucks new lol

I haven't bought a Century battery lately but the ones I've had in the past I've got a really good run out of.
The one in my first bug lasted 8 years and the century in one of my tractors was fitted in 2007 and still going strong.

I fitted an Alco calcium battery in one of my cars in March 08 and still going fine.
It doesnt get a lot of use these days and sits for weeks without use, I'm surprised it;s lasted this long.
Factory batterys seem to last the longest.
I had the Navara in for a service when it was only 3 years old and Nissan told me then I should consider getting a new battery as there computer
systems recommend replacing the factory battery at 3 years
2 years later that same battery was still going.

Well folks I didn't buy that cheap marshall battery as it was only 310 CCA ... and they said it was the one listed.. and there wasn't any option
for a better battery..?? I looked up the size and it was very small... ??
so I went to the local NRMA and bought the battery they had in stock.. which I really didn't want as it was only 370 CCA and smaller than the
original battery... There was another NRMA battery listed for NEW swifts that was 450 CCA and I really wanted the size of it to see if it would
fit... but the mechanic saleman said it would be OK...?? I don't think he wanted to order the new battery in...?? I still haven't fitted it as
yet...
it was $153 with a 3 year warranty.. NOT PRO RATA.. lol

Battery in the Caddy craped out on Friday, started fine Friday lunch time and late arvo just wouldnt even turn over so rang NRMA as I figured I had a
break down, they sent the battery fella out and he diagnosed a stuffed battery so I got him to put a new one in, $250 with 2 year warranty, kept the
old one and had it checked by an independant supplier, yep, stuffed, asked them how much for a new one, $150 !!!!!!!!! for the same thing though a
different brand, now I don't mind paying a bit more for the service (coming to me etc) but I am a member and $100 more just sounds a bit much, my
fault I guess as I should have checked prices first. Lesson learned.

my battery is starting to show signs of slowly dieing, think my attempts to start a seized engine frantically took its toll.
so i will be getting another delkor for sure before years end as its been great. found r&j are just up the road (90 sec drive lol) so its a bonus.

I ended up taking the small battery back to NRMA and ordering the larger battery which was identical size as the Delkor original.. and only $5 more ..
lol..
its sealed with a 3 year warranty.... I had to ring the NRMA head office to find someone who could give Me a battery number for the size of the
battery I wanted.. lol..
I found last year when I went to check prices of a recessed posts battery for My beetle that the NRMA was $40-50 dearer..
so I bought an EXIDE from BIG W.. with 3 years warranty..
it looks like BIG W isn't selling car batteries or oil now..
last time I looked they still had a small number.. but looks like the end of My EXIDE battery and Castrol OIL supplier.. lol

My old man has this unwritten faith in Exide batteries for some reason, he was getting them from Kmart but he replaced one a few months ago and our
local goodyear tyre shop stocked the Exide battery range.
I got my Alco battery from the same place which is coming up on 6 years old.
I didn't think it would get through the winter but it surprises me for yet another year.
