not enough hot driving to get the moisture out of the oil

Need to get the oil temp up above 100

Dont believe an oil filter will help here as water would just pass through

The moisture is in the air that gets inside your engine. Once shut down, the hot engine begins to cool, as it cools air is drawn in (hot air expands, cold contracts). The moisture gathers in the oil cap as it's the coldest place and only gets burnt off with sustained engine running. So with lots of short trips the white sludge forms which you can just wipe out as a filter will not make any difference to the issue.

One of the best oil filters I have used is an Oberg, washable and you can adjust the filter size, not that I have ever done that
