Deciphering correct carpet cuts for a '54 Oval

Hi guys,

So it's that time of the build where i'm ordering my german square weave kit, and the company supplying is in the UK.

They have asked me the following:

Quote:

Thank you for the order. Please look at the attachment below and advise us on the below 2 questions.

Please see diagram and advise which type of door sill you have.
On the front scuttle panel there is a grommet is yours oval or round.

Now my car never had carpet when I got it and is a Sept '54 build, any advice you could lend?

D.

1 where is your heater knob on the chassis in front or behind the hand brake

2 the heater outlets are they round or Oval forward or back

3 what sills do you have

1) Heater knob is behind the the hand brake

2) Heater outlets are oval, and front near feet

3) I never had carpet in my shell, so was a little unsure as to which carpet would suit my sill

4) I have asked them to send me some pics to explain what exactly it is they are referring to when they talk about front scuttle panel :)

Hi Dino,

I am about to embark on the same step- I still have the original carpet in the Beetle as a reference. Let me know if you want to drop into my painters where the car is having the 'ivory treatment' to interior trim parts!

I may also be interested in purchasing a set through this supplier, price dependent? I was considering getting a trimmer to do them from scratch with german square weave so would be interested in the price differential!

Cheers

Craig
