They are probably the worst performing aftermarket exhaust you can get.

There are several exhaust back to back tests that prove it.

Look up the VW Trends one

VS has a type 3 system in the pipeline, but not yet.... Don't use the one you linked, total sh1t and within a few months will be in multiple pieces as well as performing badly. Sorry but I have no real long term recommendations except stay tuned for the Vintage Speed system to become available.

Hmm we were looking at the bugpack 4 into 1 headers last night, what are you thoughts on this?

basically the young fella is a poor uni student, and is looking for an alternative exhaust arrangement as the current fat orig style muff hangs a bit low and acts as a rudamentary skid plate on gutters particularly in / out of his drive way at the family home.

IMO a 4-1 will have worse ground clearance

Not only that, it would last all of 30 secs on a car that low.

Even on stock height cars it doesnt take many steep driveways to snap the tips off.

hmm. So 4 into 1 would be too low as well as the other options. U got a link to those OTT Extractors or is that what you were calling rubbish, vw54? Anyways, still in the market and searching. Just don't want the exhaust dragging down the highway with me everytime i take the car out for a spin if ya get me.

Ott extractors are a good fit but the mufflers are shit. Utilize the extractor and get a 2 inch system made.

Best off with a stock exhaust they have the best ground clearance and are almost silent! I have seen a type 4 ie 1700, 1800 or 2000 kombi exhaust with adaptors to the type 3 heater boxes or J pipes.

Cheers

Yeah that's what its running a type 4 standard muffler adapted to suit.
Your best bet would be to just crank the rear up an inch ;)

Get a custom 2" made and side exhaust it behind the rear wheel.
