Gloss Level on '68 German Build Beetle Pan and Beam

I will be removing and refurbishing my front beam and replacing fuel tank soon and am wondering whether the Beetle had a gloss black pan or satin black. Also, what level of gloss should I use on the beam. This is not a period correct resto, just a freshen up but thougt I may as well do it correctly
Cheers......Wayne

Satin or even Mat comes very close to factory beam and pan, it depends on what brand you're using as they can vary heaps. I just redid a German built pan and Charcoal satin powder coat is nearly exactly the same as the og paint we found in some VERY nice internal sections.
