WTB '68 or LaterType1 Fuel Filler Steel Tube - Sourced locally
I am installing a repro fuel tank in my "68 and the inlet on the tank is round rather than the stock one which appears to be oval shaped. So I
understand I need a steel inlet tube that connects to the fuel filler at one end with a rubber tube and connects to the tank with another rubber tube.
I am told this is stock on a '68 or later but it is not stock on mine. Anyone happen to have one of these steel inlet tubes?
Cheers...........Wayne

The standard beetle (1300 or 1500) from '68-'70 had the filler neck welded to the body. You want the filler neck from a '71 onwards car, possibly
only in Super beetles (S and L).

Thanks waveman. The filler neck is welded to the body and then connected to the orig tank via a 300mm long rubber tube. I need to be able to replace
this long tube with two short rubber tubes with a steel insert tube in the middle. It is the steel tube in the middle I need (so I have been advised).
Diameter would be around 46mm I think
