i dont think it will be ready for sydney ! and i hope the welds on the safety chain and hitch plate are mega good ! i have even seen 2 links welded on
safety chain ! anyways awesome trailer ! will it have a break away system ?

Kev , the idea is to be able to use the trailer to get the buggy and car to the Sydney event . This way I only have to do one trip with everything I
need . It may not be totally finished on the inside , but the internal lining and fit out can be done as I find the time .
I have spent days trying to design a rear door assist mechanism and am happy that it all works well . I have purchased some components from a garage
door supplier and actually made it all fit . The rear door at the moment is about 48 kg's in weight and is a bit heavy to lift . Now with the assist
, I can do it with one hand . I managed to get the flooring cut today and will I will cut the tie down holes tomorrow and glue it all in place , ROD.

Progress is so shitty at the moment with so many stuff ups . Before I started on the trailer I confirmed with the tyre shop that I can get a 15 x 6"
mag wheel as a std replacement wheel as I have std wheels off a commodore to use as a set-up wheel . 2 weeks ago I went to purchase the 6 mags and now
he informs me that they are in fact 6.5" with a slightly different off-set . After exhausting all avenues I decided to order new hubs in a ford 5 x
114.3 pattern as this is very common . I ordered the wheels to suit , and had the new tyres fitted to only find that the new hubs need to have the
centre bore machined to fit . This has now been done and the wheel nuts now are a special order due to the small mounting holes in the wheels . I went
to bolt them on tonight and they are still not correct as the tool for the lug bolts will not fit in the rims . I will have to do some more running
around tomorrow to try to fix the problems .
I have managed to secure the floor and I have cut all of the interior lining sheets as it was easier to do this now before the exterior sheets are
attached . Yesterday the exterior sheets turned up and if I can get it back on it's wheels tomorrow I will sheet it over the weekend . I have also
given it a wheel alignment and tightened all of the suspension bolts and with the addition of grease nipples , all lubed ready to roll , ROD.

Steve , thanks for the link , I have an account with Nice and they didn't have what I need . Today I made some brackets that were welded to the top
of the frame so I can mount the pit tent as well as extra attachment points just in case I want to make a larger purpose built awning . I attached
some rear supports to the rear of the trailer so it will be stable when not coupled to a vehicle . I ended up sorting out the wheels problems and now
they are all mounted .

I ended up with a 15 x 6" wheel with a +45 off set . The tyres are a 185-65 and now I have some extra tyre clearance . Tomorrow I will start to sheet
the sides and maybe the roof , ROD.

I had a big weekend and with some help from Klaus , and I managed to mount the sides . The sheets are 4.0 m x 1.5 m and are a 3 mm thick aluminium
composite . Gloss black on the outside and gloss white on the inside . I also managed to start on the propeller plate lower sections , ROD.

Inside view of the framework and the sheets . The sheeting is attached with a flexible urethane compound called Sikaflex . Today I will trim the roof
sheets ready for attachment . I also have some joining moulds for the sheets that are a mill finish only , so they are getting powder coated gloss
black today , ROD.

Dave , there are a few different brands around , Alupanel , composite panel , The one I am using is Q Bond out of Vic I think . The Q Bond is
available in a 1220 x 2440 , 1500 x 3050 , 1500 x 4000 and 2000 x 4000 sheet , in about 30 different colours on each side . I am happy with the
product as it is easy to cut , bend and attach to the framework of my trailer . I can weigh a sheet for you , but I think the 1220 x 2440 sheets are
about 12 kg's . The sheets have a plastic protective coating on both sides , ROD.

Well , a couple of big days have seen me finish the sheeting , install the windows , and thanks to type 3 Chris , the 240 volt wiring has been
installed and neatly routed through the frame . Tomorrow I will do the sheeting on the doors along with all of the capping for the openings . I have
also had a small roller machined up that I will mount in the tailgate so the winch cable will not scuff , ROD.

Another productive day today . I attached the front sides and sealed all of the roof with the urethane to make it water proof . I will put a hose on
it tomorrow before I start the capping to double check for leaks . I also lined the 3 doors and they will be capped and fitted tomorrow , ROD.

Daimo , the car is ready to go . I did all of the prep work after Adelaide and was going to run it just before Christmas and pulled the pin due to the
heat .
I managed to get the roller fitted today that will support the winch cable as it runs over the ramp . The ramp also has all of the propeller plate
fitted and should be edged tomorrow . I also managed to do some of the rear capping over the top of the rear door , ROD.

I have added the sheets to the outside of the rear door and the anti rattle pins are welded in place . I have also added a few thin strips of
aluminium angle that is already powder coated black to the rear of the roof . The aluminium angle is a mixture of 50 x 25 and 70 x 25 in 1.6 . ROD .

I have also attached the 25 x 25 x 1.6 angle to the rear door as a finishing mould for the flooring . The 3 front doors hare also mounted and are

Well , I didn't end up finishing the trailer in time for the Sydney event last weekend . All was good until last Tuesday when the edge moulding were
attached to the doors and they would not fit back onto the trailer due to the hinges . I didn't leave enough room for the hinges and they fouled on
the edge mouldings . I have cut off the hinges and replaced them with some good quality stainless hinges to only find that they have way to much slop
in them . I then replaced them with a stainless piano hinge and still no good . Today I have purchased some more of the original hinges and I will now
modify them to suit my needs . ROD.
