Boxing Day drags


I was sitting round talking to Holzl the other day and I scanned this old picture.

It is from a Boxing Day drag meet from either late 80's or early 90's

Taken just before a GT Ford got spanked

Not sure of the actual crowd there but has to be in excess of 20,000 i reckon

just seemed a cool photo to put up and share

You dont get the crowds like that any more :(

Great photo!
And yeah, I haven't seen crowds like that since the '90s on my travels.
Haven't been to the Winters since then though, maybe there perhaps?
I can hear that car waiting on the line from here.........

That would have been at Eastern Creek Raceway B4 they added the extra height to the main strip mound ( its twice that height now )

I would have been there
