1971 fastback window question
Hi guys,
I'm considering buying a 1971 TL fastback which currently has rear passenger windows which don't pop out. Does anyone know if it is possible to fit
pop-out windows to this model (just by exchanging the window types without modifications)? Also, are the fixed windows originally what was fitted to
the 1971 design?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Don't you need to cut and weld in those little hinge things in the b pillar?

Only required in Notch and SB. As already stated above the FB with the flex glass is a totally different mounting requiring no hinge points like that

Yes you can fit them to this model. As the car doesn't have pop outs you'll have to drill holes as the window frames which are hidden inside the pop
out window rubbers have four studs on them, they screw onto the inside of the window frame on the car, you'll need to drill holes to hold the latch
that opens the windows too on the inside of the car. Believe fixed is original for 71 design.

this is my 71 notch that has fixed windows. Seems it's possible to fit pop outs into a Notch as required hinge holes can be seen in the B pillar.

Great, thanks! Hopefully the same applies to the fastback.
