Rebuilt engine but cannot it e properly
Hey,
I rebuilt my 1600 sp and since pulling it out and putting it back in a week has passed it seems that i cannot time the engine to run properly it has
an compufire electronic. Ignition. Svda disy firing on number one at 7.5 deg i set the static timing and all appears well. But when i run the engine
it runs rough and will not idle.
I also put in new plugs. And leads the coil is a few months old and there seems to be plenty of spark.
It appears like it is not firing properly. Yes i have got the firing order correct 1432.
I was curious is there any way to check the compufire ignition? Do you have any suggestions or tips.
I appreciate your feedback thanks

All vac lines on intake manifold blocked off?
A vacuum leak can be the reason why it won't idle as there is no vac left to suck fuel out of the idle jet of the carb.
Does it miss on acceleration?
Properly timed valves?
Dissy not timed backwards? 1234?
Pull each lead out and see if it makes a difference. If one doesn't, then its a sure sign of a single dead cylinder not performing for what ever
reason.
be aware compufire alone has a contraversial reputation for reliability

Do you have a good points and condenser to pop back in? Easiest way to check if it's the Compufire as rough idle can be caused by many things.
