New old oval bug
New old oval bug
Hi everyone,
Ive was actually on the forums a while back for a short time when i owned a chopped 1973 1303 superbug, that was kind of a mistake really.
Had that for a short while, did some small amounts of work on it and decided to sell it and move on. I bought a 1986 MK2 Golf with a 16V GTI
conversion on it.
The car was the most fun i've had in all the cars ive owned so far, light nimble, but... It just never had the same kind of pull like an original
16V. Original recaro seats and door cards, big bumper conversion, late model japanese import ABF 16V engine.
Then I moved on to a Nissan Z32 300zx which i sold last year on to a fellow 300zx forum member who totaled it a few months later.
So fast forward to today, i received a 1956 Oval at my garage. It needs a bit of work all around the car but its not in too bad a condition for the
need to strip everything down.
The LH horn grille fell out during transport sadly. I am currently the 3rd owner of this car and there has been some undesirable things done by the
original owner who owned for most of this car's lifetime which needs to be rectified. More on that when i do a proper write up as i get the work
done. It also needs to be blue slipped for registration here in NSW. Speaking of which, this oval doesnt have seat belts in the front, would that be a
problem if i want it blue slipped and registered here in NSW?
Thanks for reading.

Seat belts were not compulsory till 1966. But if your car has ever been fitted with seat belts then they need to be present & in good operational
condition. Hope this helps. Looks like a nice project. Good luck.

Seat belts weren't compulsory until 1970. Fords came out with them in 1968/69.
