ECU Experts in Melbourne
Hi All. Ive commenced my project (EZ36R 3.6 into Type 34 Razor). Can anyone here recomend an ECU expert in Melbourne, thinking either Motec / G4 /
Wolf etc? Something that can manage the dual AVCS in the engine.

Why not the tune the stock ECU? If its tunable/hackable, it would be far more capable than any aftermarket ECU.
As for who, I don't know. Possibly these guys as I see they do a fair bit of great tuning. http://www.electronicautomotive.com.au/

Because the EZ36R ECU uses CANbus. You would need to have all the CANbus modules in place (like ABS, steering wheel angle, body control etc) in order
to run the standard ECU. So you can't.
Hence the need for an aftermarket ECU. The EZ36R uses dual AVCS (variable cam timing) for nice low-down torque so it needs a decent ECU and
programming to make it perform well.

So you saying no one has just gone and removed/disabled CAN on the ECUs in these cars?
hmmm? looks like an area that hasn't had much done to it then looking into it.

Correct. Nobody has just gone and done it.
Easier to use an older ECU and engine like a pre-CANbus EZ30R.
We are in the process of doing it but it's not a 5 minute job.

I wouldn't expect it in 5min.
Custom code takes a fair bit to do.

Yep. Your right, can be done but with a lot of time = cost.. Went and visited a motec specialist today, they can handle the AVCS and CANbus. Fingers
crossed, I'll keep you posted...

close to 300hp NA it definitely a rocket in my eyes.
I read the EZ36 do have oil control issues though blowing oil past the rings. How common is this problem?

Yep Im hoping its a rocket...
Few of my mates have Poosches and have been giving me stick for the last 6 months about restoring a VW so I have elected not to mention the mendeola
suspension, wilwood brakes, 3.6 engine and 5 speed box. Looking forward to the surprise...Just gotta make it work though.
My rationale is that I bought a new Audi a few years back which lost $60k in value in under 5 years - I dont want to do that again - so for the price
of another Audi I can custom build a weapon that wont depreciate anywhere near an Audi in 5 years, and if I do it right I wont want to sell it
either..!..
