Type 3 Dash pad reproduction
This is a reproduction dash pad for a 1961 -73 VW Type 3 Right hand drive only. No passenger side handle included.
The moulds used to make these dash pads were produced directly from a very good original dash pad so this mould process captures every texture and
detail of the original dash surface grain just the same as the real dash. The closed moulds also reproduce the back side shape of an original dash
too.
The original VW dash gauge holes have a plastic ring that supports the circular shape and also locates the gauges when inserted. With this replica
dash we actually use these original rings from old dashes and set them in the moulds so that they are now reused and moulded into the new replicas
too.

Just a bump.
We have shipped two more dashes in recent weeks, one to Sydney and one to South Africa.
If you are interested then step up as these may be a limited run. I need the old plastic gauge rings in exchange to make new ones though.

Have you thought about making the pad for the up to 1963 model (shape includes up to 1965 German S) as the pad shown is only from 1964 on??

I could do this too although the market for that is even smaller than the one I have. All you need to do is send me your perfect original dash so I
can make a mould from it??

Someone actually bought a perfect RHD early one on fleabay a few years back! That was the only perfect one seen for many years so at this stage, the
only way seems to be having one re skinned by the look of it.

Is it just the ends are different as they curve around to join the door padded trim?
I'd happily help with an ok one I have that the ends could be replicated off... And used withpart of the current mould?!?

That would be great if it could have the ends grafted on. I have a reasonable mid 60s one here as well as two end portions from the early one but
it's one of those things which I haven't got around to doing. The re skinned one by a company here in Sydney hasn't turned out great although
it's been on there for 12 years now. They couldn't be told anything about not sanding a radius onto the area where it meets the door trim!

It is not possible to make any mods to the current moulds that could make the ends as an early car.
I imagine that this replica 64-70? dash will fit those early cars just fine, of course the ends are not a match to the doors but it should still look
just fine and there are no cracks. I know it's not technically correct for an early car but these dashes will still make the interior a nicer place
to be. It depends on how bad your cracks are and if you can bare to stare at them when this could be a reasonable option.

No I don't have any stock yet. I would like to have one but I need those plastic rings from the gauges of an old dash so I can use them in the new
dashes. Just send me a ring set and I can make a dash.
