Rear hub removal
Hi all , looking for help , advice , just removed the 36mm nut from rear hub,and trying to remove the hub , with not much luck it seem to be stuck !!!
What's the best way to remove it without a puller ? Or the best place to buy or borrow one , I'm based in canberra

Put the nut back on but don't tighten all the way up leave about 1/2 a turn loose put the split pin back in so it won't come off and go for a good
hard drive around the block and check to see if it has come loose good luck best way is with a puller

Thanks for advice , brake adjusters backed right off & handbrake off , hubs roll freely , I'll have to invest in a puller I think , anyone know
best place to get one ?

nylon/rubber hammer, give it a few taps on opposing faces & a spray of your choice of lube wd40/inox/penetrene etc should get it...

Bolt the wheel back on and give it a few opposing boots, failing that puller would be better.
It will all be OK in the end, if it's not OK it's not the end!

Yes as per above
Put the wheel back on but with 3 bolts and have it so it ratttles Make sure you have a good jack stand under the car and also a temporary jack as
well
then use the wheel as a rattle to remove the brake drum rock from side to side

Try using a piece of soft metal like brass against the end of the axle, then whack this with a hammer

Beaware you can bunell the bearing if you hit the axel to hard, all the force is directed into the bearing, this is why a puller is the correct
method, even a three jaw puller will work in most situations. you could hire one for a couple of hours

Call up a tool hire place, make sure you get one big enough, do not apply to much pressure on the od of the drum.
